Aiden Gillis is a multi-disciplinary visual artist based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, currently working as the Indigenous Arts Programmer within the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia. Aiden takes great inspiration from his Mi’kmaw and French ancestry rooted in Port au Port, Newfoundland, bringing together representation and abstraction to describe form primarily through drawing and painting. His practice extends to graphic design, traditional illustration, wood and leather work, with experience and interest in teaching and curating. Aiden completed a 2017 BFA majoring in Fine Art with a minor in Art History at NSCAD University in Halifax, NS.
